STATE SENATE DISTRICT 9

Putting Families and Communities First
Why I'm Running
I have always been determined to turn every obstacle into an opportunity and to make every challenge a chance for progress.

When my infant daughter was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, doctors advised hospice care instead of treatment. However, I would not give up on my daughter. I advocated for her, researched various treatments, and chose one that led to her recovery.

I knew I was not the only person who had to stand up to an unresponsive healthcare system. So, I earned a degree in Neurobiology to help not only my daughter, but families like mine.

As an educator and scientist, I continued to broaden the scope of my activism. I helped start a nonprofit focused on women’s reproductive health and I am currently a San Ramon City Councilmember.

I am running for State Senate because our community needs an advocate who will not give up.

You will not have a more tenacious and dedicated representative in Sacramento.

This is why my daughter is now a long-term cancer survivor and college student.

This is why I am asking for your vote.

Gratefully,
